Regular Meetings

Regular meetings of the Board are held on the fourth Monday of each month at 7 p.m. unless otherwise indicated. Board meetings are held at the Carruth Administration Center, located at 1111 W. Sixth St., Room B100, Austin, Texas, 78703.

Board Work Sessions

Work sessions are  held on the second Monday of each month, with an agenda established in advance by the AISD Superintendent in consultation with members of the Board.

Board Dialogue Meetings

Board Dialogue meetings will be held, generally on the first Monday of each month.

Additional meetings on specific topics shall be scheduled by the board as needed.

Broadcast Dates and Times

Live Broadcast—Work Session Meetings second Monday of the month.

Live Broadcast—Regular Meeting fourth Monday of the month. May be altered as needed.

Rebroadcast—Work Sessions, Public Hearings, Special Meetings and Regular Board Meetings Saturday 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sundays at 1 p.m. Monday 7 p.m. (if no other live meeting is scheduled).

Public Comment Policy

Members of the community are invited to address the AISD Board during the public comment period at regularly scheduled Board meetings. Each speaker is limited to two minutes, with a limit of 30 speakers. 

Those who wish to speak during Public Comment may sign up on the Friday before the meeting and on the day of the meeting. Every Regular Board Meeting includes 70 minutes for Public Comment. Each speaker is allotted 2 minutes. This allows up to 30 speakers to address the Board about the issue of their choice. Speakers are called in the order in which they signed up. If you wish to speak during Public Comment, you may sign up by phone or in person. You may sign up from 1–4:45  p.m. the Friday before a Regular Board meeting and 7:45 a.m.–7 p.m.* the day of the Regular Board Meeting. In the event the District is closed on the Friday before a Regular Board Meeting, Public Comment registration will be the business day prior to the Board’s Regular meeting that the District is open, in addition to the Public Comment registration opportunity offered the day of the Regular Board Meeting.

For phone registration signup, call 512-414-4411. On the day of the board meeting, you can sign up by phone or in the Superintendent's Office (Room A250) during regular business hours of 7:45 a.m.–4:45 p.m. or in the Board Auditorium (Building B Room 100) from 4:45–7 pm.

Speakers will be asked to provide the following information: The subject to be addressed, speaker’s name, telephone number and, if applicable, the group or organization the speaker represents. An individual may not sign up for another person, nor can speakers exchange time or yield time to others.

Public Hearings

The Board may schedule public hearings to gather input on a particular subject.

If you wish to speak during Public Hearing, you may sign up by phone or in person.  You may sign up from 1-4:45 p.m. the Friday before a Regular Board meeting and 7:45 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. * the day of the Regular Board Meeting. In the event the District is closed on the Friday before a Regular Board Meeting, Public Hearing registration will be the business day prior to the Board’s Regular meeting that the District is open, in addition to the Public Hearing registration opportunity offered the day of the Regular Board Meeting. *From 4:45 – 7:00 p.m., sign up is in person only.

Speakers will be asked to provide their name, address, telephone number, and signature. No person is permitted to sign up on behalf of another person nor to exchange or yield time to others. There is no limit to the number of speakers who may speak, but the Board designates the number of minutes allowed per speaker. If there are fewer than 40 speakers, each speaker will be allotted 2 minutes. For 40 or more speakers, one-and-one-half minutes are given.
