Advancing Equity in Contracting with Historically Underutilized Businesses
REBuild and REBrand the way we do business with HUBs
We are excited to announce Austin ISD HUB Program Department’s new initiative to increase the opportunities and involvement of Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs) in the district’s construction procurement processes. The goals of that project are to:
- Improve the solicitation process and ensure it is more equitable for HUBs;
- Learn about HUBs experiences working with AISD project managers, construction management leadership, and with general contractors; and,
- Identify how the district can improve its policies and processes to ensure greater HUB involvement in Austin ISD construction projects.
In an effort to maintain transparency throughout this process, we are collaborating with Opportunity Consulting, a Black and Hispanic Woman-owned business to conduct the procurement and HUB goal process review.
Furthermore, Opportunity Consulting will reach out to dozens of HUBs and general contractors to interview them about their experiences, perspectives, and ideas on how to improve the district’s policies and processes.
Take part in the survey.
HUB Program Mission
