Wooten Elementary provides a nurturing and safe environment that fosters the development of responsible, caring students who are critical thinkers and lifelong learners. Students, families, staff and community work together as part of a rich mix of languages and cultures to ensure the academic success of students. Built in the early 1950s during the north Austin expansion, Wooten is one of the district’s original two-way dual language pilot schools. All educational programs are coordinated to ensure both English-only and bilingual students receive quality instruction. The school has a uniform dress policy that adds to its sense of pride and order.
