Where Do You Want to Go?
Thank you for your interest in Austin ISD! We know you have options, and we love that you've chosen us. We want to work with every family and student to tailor your child's education. That's why we're proud to offer transfers to any open school within the district.
Diversity Choice Program UPDATE 5/4/23:
The Austin ISD Student Services Office has begun identifying students who are eligible for the Diversity Choice school option program. This is not a transfer or transfer request; it is a program that gives students residing in specific parts of the district the option to attend a designated middle or high school as an alternative to their zoned schools. This is a very limited program that requires eligibility associated with specific addresses within Austin ISD. Letters to eligible students will be mailed out starting May 12th, 2023.
WHAT’S THE STATUS OF MY TRANSFER?
The AISD Student Services Office is hard at work processing roughly 5,000 transfer requests for the 2023-24 school year. All Priority transfers and Application based program transfers have been processed. At this time, we are currently working on GENERAL TRANSFERS. These transfers are processed in date/time stamp order.
As of the work week (June 5–8) we are working on transfers submitted during the following dates:
For Pre-K transfers: April 3

As our staff processes the transfers, parents should get an email regarding the approved/denied status of their transfer.
