Overview

John B. Winn Montessori opened in 1970 and is named after the district’s first superintendent. The school serves approximately 360 students in Pre-K through fifth grade. Winn is an educational institution where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, and where ALL students begin their journeys in preparation for college, career, and life! The staff is committed to addressing the needs of the whole child, with fine arts, social and emotional learning, and other programs to enrich the standard curriculum. Winn offers full-day Pre-K; a one-way, late-exit transitional bilingual program; free Boys and Girls Club after-school program for 1st - 5th and a campus managed tuition-based after-school program for PreK - kinder. Families are encouraged to be involved in their child’s education, and many participate in family literacy and mathematics nights.

Winn is part of the Northeast Austin Communities for Educational Readiness (learn more at www.nacer.org). As an early college high school, Reagan offers students the opportunity to earn college credit and graduate with a diploma in one hand and an associate degree from Austin Community College in the other.
