MEDIA ADVISORY: Austin ISD to hold Sánchez Elementary School Groundbreaking Ceremony

Austin ISD and the Metz-Sánchez Elementary Schools community will celebrate the groundbreaking of Sánchez, funded through the 2017 Bond.

Students from the Metz-Sánchez community will soon be learning in a bright, modern school with flexible classrooms at the Sánchez site. The modernized Sánchez is a $25 million investment from the 2017 Bond program.

AISD Community is Invited to Attend Easterseals Central Texas Partnership Proposal Community Conversation

Easterseals Central Texas and Austin ISD are exploring an 1882 partnership to offer transition-aged young adults with autism and related neurodivergent conditions a new transition program.

An 1882 partnership is named for the Texas Legislature Senate Bill 1882 signed into effect in 2017. The bill incentivizes districts to work collaboratively with new and existing partners to promote innovation and expand the diversity of school options.

Community Conversation: AISD & Easterseals Central Texas 1882 Partnership Proposal

What: Easterseals Central Texas (ESCTX) and AISD are exploring an 1882 partnership to offer transition-aged young adults with autism and related neurodivergent conditions a new transition program. This program would be focused on creative arts and technology with a goal of training students to participate in the workforce. By entering into an 1882 partnership with ESCTX, and specifically its Greenleaf Neurodiversity Community Center, AISD can provide transition services to students.

MEDIA ADVISORY: Student Designers Showcase Work at 17th Annual McCallum Fashion Show

Student fashion designers from McCallum High School will showcase their work at the 17th Annual Fashion Show this weekend. 

The event, hosted at the AISD Performing Arts Center, will be open to the public on Saturday, Feb. 15. Every year the McCallum High School Fine Arts Cinematic Program puts together a fashion show where students can explore the creative and technical aspects of moving images and production.

If you missed the January window, we would still love to have you join us for our next session.

  • Next Enrollment: Fall 2026 registration will begin in the Summer of 2026.

Austin ISD to Host Census 2020 Ambassador Training

Austin ISD and the National Association of Latino Elected Officials Education Fund will host a Census 2020 Ambassador Training Feb. 15, the second training offered by AISD. 

The training will equip community members to be Census ambassadors. Once completed, ambassadors will help ensure that everyone in AISD and Central Texas is accurately represented to get federal funding for schools, health care, libraries, and social services.
