Professional Pathways for Teachers (PPfT) is the result of the collaboration between Austin Independent School District, the PPfT Oversight Committee, which consists of teachers, campus administrators, and Education Austin, to design a Human Capital System that blends appraisal, compensation, professional learning, and teacher leadership.
Students will ride the shuttle from their high school campus to the event venue. Each campus will have shuttle buses running from the campus to the graduation site 2 hours prior to the ceremony start time until 2 hours after the graduation ceremony ends. Families are also able to ride the shuttle.
At the conclusion of each commencement ceremony, school buses will be stationed at the drop off location to return guests to their respective shuttle locations.
The Austin ISD Off-Campus Physical Education Program (OCPE) is designed to accommodate students who are pursuing high-level skills in a specific activity that exceeds what the school district can offer through the general physical education program. OCPE allows students in 7th through 12th grade to earn credits that meet the district and state physical education requirements. In Austin ISD, only agencies that have been district trained can provide OCPE credit. Part of the requirements include utilizing the AISD OCPE curriculum.
Austin ISD has an outstanding adapted physical education program. It conforms to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act, which states that physical education is a required service for students ages 3–21 who qualify for special education services because of a specific disability or developmental delay. Students must be formally evaluated and recommended by an annual review and dismissal committee to be eligible for direct services by an adapted physical education teacher.
