Overview

Zilker Elementary offers students a balance of educational experiences, extending beyond strong academics to arts enrichment on and off campus, environmental education and social and emotional learning. An active, involved PTA reflects the collaboration between home and school to support student success. As part of a collaboration with a nearby restaurant, Jabo’s Garden gives students the opportunity to create and maintain an “edible schoolyard.” Since opening in January of 1950, Zilker Elementary has been the neighborhood school where thousands of south Austin children have created lifelong memories.
