Overview

Austin High School, located in the heart of the city, is the oldest continuously operating public high school in Texas. Students from diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds pursue academic excellence, guided by a highly qualified and dedicated faculty. 

Austin High offers more than 250 courses, including advanced courses in most disciplines, such as English, math, science, social studies, journalism and foreign languages. The school has a rich tradition of strong performance and an ever-growing list of distinguished graduates and loyal alumni.

Students have the opportunity to attend one of Austin High's four academies—Classical Studies, Global Studies, High Tech and Science & Innovation—to expand their knowledge and challenge themselves throughout their high school career.
