Welcome to AISD’s Virtual PAC, and our Annual Student Art Exhibit!
This year’s exhibition is entitled “Peace, Love, & Art”. In AISD we believe that education in all the arts are essential for the development of the whole child, for every child. The arts provide vital connections to creativity and critical thinking, expression and self-motivation, and healthy minds and bodies, now more than ever during this unprecedented time. Since we are unable to open the building to the public at the moment, we’re bringing a virtual tour to your fingertips. As you navigate around you’ll see artwork, sculpture and photography from 113 campuses, with student creations guided by their 150 visual art teachers, curated over 5600 square feet of our beautiful Visual & Performing Arts Center.
We are so #AISDProud of our students and teachers who made this exhibit possible - enjoy!

Visual & Performing Arts at Austin ISD
The Austin ISD Visual & Performing Arts Department believes that a Visual & Performing Arts education is essential for the development of the whole child. The arts provide students with unique experiences that allow them to explore their passions, maximize their creativity and critical thinking skills, and learn valuable lessons about self-motivation, dedication, teamwork and communication.
AISD is a recognized leader in urban education and is dedicated to providing an arts-rich education for every student. Visual & Performing Arts education is available at all 129 schools. Every elementary student in the district receives a high-quality education in elementary and music.
Secondary schools throughout AISD offer many different Visual & Performing Arts strands for students to pursue:
- Visual Arts
Each of these sequential courses, all of which feature a meaningful and rigorous curriculum taught by expert staff, provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary for cognitive, creative, emotional and social growth. By enrolling in these Visual & Performing Arts courses, students are also eligible to participate in clinics and contests such as All-City Guitar, All-City Band, All-City Choir, UIL Concert and Sight Reading, One Act Play, Dance Spectacular and Visual Art Scholastic Event, as well as various concerts, events and art exhibits throughout the community. Visual & Performing Arts students from AISD have won numerous district, state and national awards and scholarships, and many have gone on to pursue the arts in higher education and beyond.
