Recommended Plan Comment Card

Once more, we have a centralized spot to collect your feedback. Austin ISD invites you to share your thoughts in our Comment Card 2. We have updated this form to reflect communication that went out Tuesday Nov. 4 on the updated plan for vote on Nov. 20 which includes only: 1) relocation of the schoolwide dual language programs and 2) consolidation and boundary changes in support of the turnaround plans. (Additional planning and conversation on other changes will be picked back up in the spring semester.) You will enter your contact information, select the topic you are interested in (boundary changes, school closure, academics or programs, other), and provide written comments. You may fill out a comment card for each topic of interest. We have assigned subject matter experts to review and consider each response. Comment Card 2 will be open from October 31–November 19 as we prepare for the final presentation and Board vote on November 20, 2025.

Austin ISD Recommended School Closures & Programmatic Reassignments

Since the initial release of the draft school consolidation and boundary change plan on October 3, 2025, and the updated proposal that was published on October 31, 2025, Austin ISD staff and leadership have listened, reviewed feedback, and adjusted plans to respond to our community and Board of Trustees. This adjusted plan incorporates feedback and modifies timelines to thoroughly ensure all community ideas districtwide boundary changes and school closures related to balancing enrollment in the future.
The Recommended School Closures & Programmatic Reassignments Plan outlines school closures and reassignments that include state-required Turnaround Plans (TAPs) and program relocations.
In total, 3,796 students have been reassigned and 6,319 seats have been eliminated under this proposal. View your school assignments based on your address here.
Trustees are scheduled to vote on the recommended plan at the November 20, 2025, Board Voting Meeting. If approved, the recommended TAP school reassignments will be submitted to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) on November 21, 2025. The school closures and programmatic reassignments, which is a part of this portion of the plan take effect in the 2026–2027 school year.
We understand these changes may have a significant impact on our students, staff and community. This is why we are committed to supporting our families, students and staff through transition. We will share more details on the comprehensive transition plan after trustee approval.
District leaders will continue gathering feedback and ideas from the community as we plan for the future districtwide boundary changes and the closures tied to balanced enrollment.
