Austin ISD Stadium Procedures

Purpose

Austin ISD is committed to providing a safe, enjoyable, and family-friendly environment at all Central Athletic Facilities. These policies and procedures apply to all spectators, students, staff, media representatives, event workers, and visitors attending events hosted at Austin ISD athletic venues.

General Facility Procedures:

  • All guests are expected to follow Austin ISD policies, campus expectations, and directions from event staff, security personnel, and law enforcement.
  • Austin ISD reserves the right to deny entry or remove any individual whose behavior is disruptive, unsafe, or violates facility procedures.
  • Re-entry policies may vary by event. Guests should confirm re-entry procedures prior to exiting the venue.
  • Smoking, vaping, tobacco, alcohol, illegal substances, and weapons are prohibited on all Austin ISD property.

Clear Bag Policy: Clear Bag Policy | Austin ISD 

To enhance safety and expedite entry into athletic facilities, Austin ISD enforces a Clear Bag Policy for all events.

Approved Bags

Guests may bring:

  • Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags not exceeding 12" x 6" x 12"
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags
  • Small clutch bags or purses no larger than 4.5" x 6.5"
  • Medically necessary bags, after inspection by security personnel
  • Diaper bags accompanying an infant or small child, subject to inspection

Prohibited Bags

The following items are not permitted:

  • Backpacks
  • Large purses
  • Camera bags (Unless prior approval is granted through the AISD athletic department)
  • Duffel bags
  • Coolers
  • Drawstring bags
  • Briefcases
  • Luggage or oversized bags

All bags are subject to search upon entry.

Prohibited Items

The following items are not permitted:

  • No weapons and firearms
  • No tobacco products or illicit substances
  • No outside food and drinks
  • No beverage containers even if empty (EX: Yeti, Stanley, Hydraflask, etc.)

Ticket Purchase Policy: Purchase Tickets | Austin ISD 

Ticketing Procedures

  • Digital/mobile ticketing will be used through Hometown ticketing.
  • Tickets for Austin ISD athletic events should be purchased in advance.
  • All ticket sales are FINAL. No refunds or exchanges will be issued.

Entry Requirements

  • Guests must present a valid ticket or pass for entry.
  • Screenshots of mobile tickets will not be accepted.
  • No re-entry. If a guest leaves the facility they will need to purchase another ticket to enter.

Pass Guidelines:

Accepted Passes

Admission may be granted for approved passes, including:

  • UIL District Passes
  • THSCA / TGCA / THSADA Passes
  • Austin ISD employee badges 
  • Media credentials approved by Austin ISD Athletics
  • Austin ISD Athletics Senior Passes

Restrictions

  • Pass acceptance is subject to event designation and facility capacity.
  • Some postseason or UIL playoff events may not honor district or coaching passes.
  • Passes are non-transferable and must be presented with valid identification upon request.

Tailgating:

  • Tailgating is permitted in designated areas only at each facility. Alcohol is not permitted.
  • No commercially-sponsored tailgating is allowed. 
  • Tailgates must be closed down and cleaned up 30 minutes prior to the start of the event.

Media Guidelines:

Austin ISD welcomes professional media coverage of athletic events while maintaining a safe environment for participants and spectators.

Credentials

  • Media representatives must obtain credentials prior to the event.
  • Credentials must be visible at all times while on-site.

Field and Court Access

  • Access to sidelines, playing surfaces, locker rooms, and restricted areas is limited to authorized personnel.
  • Media members must comply with all instructions from event administration and game officials.

Conduct Expectations

  • Media representatives may not interfere with gameplay, coaches, athletes, or event operations.
  • Interviews must be coordinated through campus or district athletic administration when required.

Photography and Video

  • Commercial photography or filming without district approval is prohibited.
  • Drones are prohibited unless specifically authorized by Austin ISD and applicable governing authorities.

Parking Procedures:

General Parking

  • Parking is available in designated lots only.
  • Guests must follow all posted signage and directions from parking attendants and law enforcement.

Prohibited Parking

Vehicles may be ticketed or towed for:

  • Blocking fire lanes, driveways or emergency access routes
  • Parking in unauthorized areas
  • Occupying accessible spaces without proper credentials

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking is available for vehicles displaying valid state-issued placards or license plates.


Animal Policy:

Animals are prohibited inside Austin ISD Central Athletic Facilities except:

  • Service animals trained to assist individuals with disabilities, as defined by applicable law. Guests with service animals must maintain control of the animal at all times.
  • Approved law enforcement animals

Pets, emotional support animals, and therapy animals are not permitted.


Spectator Conduct:

Austin ISD promotes sportsmanship and respectful behavior at all events. As a The Texas Way district, we can all improve the level of sportsmanship at UIL sporting events, decrease the number of ejections, and strengthen the relationship between coaches, athletes, officials, and fans - all while creating a safe game-day environment. 

The following behaviors may result in removal from the facility:

  • Profanity or abusive language
  • Threatening behavior
  • Fighting or disorderly conduct
  • Throwing objects
  • Entering restricted or playing areas without authorization
  • Failure to follow directions from event staff or security personnel

Other Facility Policies:

  • Glass containers are not allowed in the stadium. 
  • Gum, Sunflower seeds, peanuts, candy, colored drinks, and similar products are not allowed on the field or track. 
  • Outside food and drinks are not allowed in the stadium. 
  • Screw-on cleats or metal cleats are not allowed on the field. 
  • No open flame, space heaters, flaming batons, gas generators, or pyrotechnics allowed. 
  • No paper signs, including “run through signs”, are allowed on the field. Signs may not be taped against any surface in the stadium. 
  • Vinyl signs may be tied to the railing. 
  • Live Mascots are not allowed. 
  • No cannons, noisemakers, confetti, or powder are allowed in the stadium 
  • Props that will mark, cut, or damage a synthetic field surface will not be allowed. This includes pointed items, items needing to be staked, as well as wheels. 
  • Spectators are not allowed on the field before, during, or after a game. 
  • All equipment such as training tables, fans, tents, chairs, ladders, stools, etc. must have a protective base or they will not be allowed. 

We reserve the right to prohibit any object being brought into the stadium if it is considered a safety risk. 


Emergency Procedures:

In the event of an emergency:

  • Follow instructions from stadium personnel, security, and law enforcement
  • Evacuate calmly through designated exits when directed
  • Report suspicious activity immediately to event staff

Austin ISD reserves the right to modify facility procedures as necessary to ensure safety and operational efficiency.


Weather Policies:

  • If there is lightning in the area, the game will be delayed by 30 minutes.
  • If a Thursday night game is cancelled, the game will be rescheduled for Friday if officials, game help crew, and a stadium are available.
  • If a Friday night game is cancelled, the game will be rescheduled for Saturday if officials, game help crew, and a stadium are available.
  • Postponed games will be completed at the next date and time based on stadium availability
