Calendar Task Force Meeting

The AISD Calendar Task Force is charged with developing and recommending an instructionally sound calendar for the 2020-2021 school year that focuses on the District’s academic mission and Strategic Plan. The Task Force shall place the needs of all students first and foremost, but shall also consider the needs of parents, the community and district staff.

Austin ISD alum honored with University of Texas at Austin scholarship, accepting donations

Austin ISD’s Liberal Arts and Science Academy is the foundation for many accomplished community members including alum Savitha Shanmugasundaram. Savitha was expected to graduate in May with her dual degrees but on March 1, she passed away due to injuries from the mass shooting in Austin. Now, over a month later, Savitha’s friends and family are continuing her legacy by raising funds to support an endowed scholarship to help 8-10 UT Austin students per year.
