This April, in celebration of Library Appreciation Month and Librarian Appreciation Week, the district is highlighting the "Love Your Library" campaign, an annual fundraising effort
Austin ISD embraces sustainability not only as a way to help our planet but also as an educational tool to provide challenging and inspiring curriculum to our students.
In this episode, we dive into the critical financial landscape facing Austin ISD and highlight several ways for families to get involved this month. From budget town halls to Pre-K fairs, here is what you need to know to stay connected with the district.
April is Volunteer Appreciation Month, and we’re #AISDProud to recognize the Austin ISD 2025-26 Volunteers of the Year. We know public schools could not work without the people from the community who step up to do what’s needed, and this is our chance to salute the best of an indispensable bunch.
Every year, each campus picks one or two Volunteers and Mentors who have given exceptional support to support their schools. Visit the dashboard below to find this year's volunteers and mentor's at each school.
Dear Austin ISD Staff and Families,
In Austin ISD, we’re committed to growing the next generation of Austin in a way that's true to our values. To uphold that commitment, amid growing financial pressures, we must discuss deeper budget reductions than previous years.
Austin ISD leaders are now looking at more significant budget reductions after a reduction in property tax values, enrollment decline, increased costs and delayed real estate deals led to a $30 million increase in the current year budget deficit.
The district is projected to close out the current budget year with a $49 million deficit and head into the 2026-27 budget year with a $181 million deficit.
