Anderson High School Celebrates the Class of 2019

Families and friends gathered at the Frank Erwin Center today to celebrate the successes of L. C. Anderson High School's graduating seniors.

Principal Sammi Harrison opened the ceremony by welcoming everyone and congratulating the Class of 2019. She then introduced the award-winning Anderson choir, which performed "The Road Home."

Superintendent Paul Cruz congratulated the 514 graduates, and recognized some of the class's achievements.

Akins Eagles Soar at Graduation 2019

Family and friends filled the Frank Erwin Center today as Akins High School celebrated the Class of 2019. 

Superintendent Paul Cruz welcomed the guests and encouraged grads as they finish their high school years. 

"We want you to be successful and we want you to help others along the way," he said. "We want the world to know how smart you are, and how much you care."

Principal Tina Salazar introduced a special guest to the ceremony, Justin Iglehart, the grandson of school namesake Charles Akins. 

Austin ISD to Hold Bowie High School Groundbreaking Ceremony

Modernization Construction to Start Summer 2019

James Bowie High School is one of the modernization projects included in the 2017 AISD Bond Program. Bowie will receive the first phase of a full modernization that includes improved parking facilities and additions and renovations to athletics and fine arts. 

Construction is scheduled to start Summer 2019. To kick off the process, the school will be hosting a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the milestone.

Austin High School Graduates 480 Maroons

Nearly 500 Maroons crossed the stage today as Austin High School graduated its Class of 2019.

Superintendent Paul Cruz praised the students for their hard work and achievements. 

  • The Lady Maroons Softball Team had a historic 29-7 season, the first softball team to make it past the regional quarter finals since 2001. The team were Regional Semifinal champions, advancing them to the school's first ever regional final championship.
  • Jazz Ensemble placed first place overall at the University of Texas Jazz Competition

McCallum High School Celebrates the Class of 2019

The McCallum High School community of teachers, staff, families and friends joined graduating seniors at the Frank Erwin Center today to celebrate the Class of 2019.

Superintendent Paul Cruz congratulated the 352 McCallum graduates, and highlighted some of the class's achievements.

  • In scholastic art and writing, 26 Gold Key recipients advance to New York City

Valedictorian Raiya Myren and Salutatorian Lindsey Wiley thanked their classmates, teachers and family.
