Austin High School Hosts District's 2018 High School Showcase

Austin High School this year hosts the district's annual High School Showcase from 9 a.m.–noon this Saturday.

The event highlights the variety of special programs available at the district's high school campuses, including the six early college high schools, the Career Launch programs at LBJ and Reagan early college high schools, and the many opportunities available to all students through the district’s business and post-secondary partnerships.

McCallum High School Expo Knight 2018

All incoming McCallum High School ninth-grade students and families are cordially invited to EXPO KNIGHT 2018: Rising Ninth-Graders’ Course Fair & Choice Sheet Night.

Join us Feb. 27 for the course fair, 5–6:15 p.m. in the gym, and the info session, 6:30–8 p.m. in the MAC Theatre.

Principals, counselors and teachers will present information on the courses MAC offers, help incoming studens and families understand HB5 graduation requirements, and answer your questions!

2018 AISD Latino Academic Achievement Awards

This event recognizes hundreds of Latino students in grades 7–12th representing all middle and high schools in various categories: Academic Achievement, Leadership, ESL and Dual Language Programs, and high school students in the Fine Arts and Athletics.

Sharing is Caring: Austin ISD Wants Feedback on Budget

Austin ISD is holding a series of budget community conversations beginning Tuesday, Feb. 13. Staff will present information about the financial conditions facing the district and answer questions about its budget. Attendees will have an opportunity to weigh in on priorities over the next couple of years.

The meetings at Carruth Administration Center and Baker Center have limited parking and seating.

Social and Emotional Learning Symposium

2018 Youth Art Month Student Art Show

To celebrate Youth Art Month 2018, 2,500 works of art representing 126 elementary, middle and high schools will be displayed at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center, 1500 Barbara Jordan Blvd.

Families, students, teachers and art lovers are invited to join us for this annual exhibit.

Painting, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, collage, weaving, ceramics, photography, jewelry and electronic media will be on display.

Parking is free at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center parking garage, but space is limited. Carpooling is recommended.

Opening Receptions:

For schools south of the river: 1–3 p.m. Feb. 25

For schools north of the river: 4–6 p.m. Feb. 25 

Works that are part of the districtwide art show will be on display 8 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday–Friday and noon–4 p.m. Saturday–Sunday February 26-March 9.
