Austin ISD is planning for the modernization of its school facilities, which may include future bond elections.

In conjunction with the community-based Facilities and Bond Planning Advisory Committee, the district is committed to conducting an inclusive and broad engagement process that will include a series of community meetings, as well as online and phone-based participation opportunities.

Austin ISD invites you to the inaugural Ladies of Distinction Young Women’s Conference. The event aims to promote, help and bring awareness to young women within AISD about facing adversity and overcoming challenges.

Participants can attend classes ranging from banking to fitness to beauty and more.

The event will also feature a panel of working professionals who will provide young women with a sense of empowerment.

The event will be 10 a.m.–2 p.m. May 16 at the AISD Performing Arts Center, 1500 Barbara Jordan Blvd.

Burnet Middle School Mother and Daughter Summit

Burnet Middle School will host its first Mother and Daughter Summit on April 2.

The purpose is to educate, motivate, empower and form strong bonds between mothers and daughters.

There will be breakout sessions by Con Mi Madre, Travis County Underage Drinking Program, Frost Bank and many more.

The event runs from 8 a.m. to noon and is open to the public.

Burnet Middle School Community Resource Fair

The public is invited to Burnet Middle School to learn about neighborhood services at Burnet's Community Resource Fair.

This event is free for families and vendors, with great door prizes and free mammograms by the Big Pink Bus.

The Community Resource Fair runs from 11 to 2 p.m. on April 2.
