Dove Springs Community Health Fair At Consuelo Mendez Middle School

The Consuelo Mendez Middle School Family Resource Center and AISD  will be hosting the Dove Springs Community Health Fair on Saturday, April 5th from 9am to 12pm at Consuelo Mendez Middle School (5106 Village Square Dr.).

This year, the FRC is collaborating with Austin/Travis County Health and Human Services Department for their kickoff of National Public Health Week and with the Austin Public Library in their kickoff and celebration of Million Mile Challenge Month.

DACA Scholarships and Citizenship Drive

Education Austin invites the community to an educational forum from 6–8 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at Travis High School. The information on the process, fees, etc. will prepare attendees for the Citizenship Drive that will take place from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at Travis High School. The purpose of the Citizenship Drive is to help eligible permanent residents fill out a citizenship application.

32 Students from Dobie Middle School Complete Half Marathon

Evan Gonzalez, eighth-grade social studies teacher at Dobie Middle School, first heard about the tremendous positive effect that Marathon High was having on East Los Angeles scholars when he ran a full marathon in Los Angeles this past summer. He petitioned for Dobie to be one of the pilot schools in the program in AISD, and after demonstrating that there was a huge need for something special like this on Dobie’s campus, convinced the right people to bring it to Austin.

Media Advisory: Anti-bullying Event Featuring Children's Author to be Held at Linder Elementary School

AUSTIN, Texas--About 200 students at Linder Elementary School will participate in an anti-bullying event by Superior Health Plans, Centene Corporation, its subsidiary Cenpatico, and Children's National Health System as part of the district's No Place for Hate initiative.
