Austin ISD and Austin Voices for Education and Youth are holding community meetings this fall to gather input about possible uses of the currently vacant Allan Elementary School facility.
The meetings are scheduled as follows:

Families, staff and community members are invited to help Lanier High School kickoff the 2013 Homecoming Week with a parade and Fall Festival Oct. 12.
The parade will include the Lanier band, cheerleaders, Vikettes, football team and other school groups, as well as members of the community and feeder schools.
Austin, Texas—L.C. Anderson High School invites alumni, current and former staff; students and their families; and the community to celebrate its 40th anniversary with an Anniversary Program, Homecoming game and other events Oct. 25-26.
Everyday, working behind the scenes to serve AISD’s approximately 86,000 students and more than 11,000 staff members, is AISD’s human resources team.
The team works hard each day to ensure that our schools are staffed with high quality employees and that those employees have a good environment in which to work.
To celebrate their hard work, Gov. Rick Perry has proclaimed Oct. 9 as Texas Education Human Resources Day. The day is set aside to recognize and honor their contributions.
This week, AISD middle and high school families will receive a letter from the district about the new graduation plan requirements that were passed by the 83rd Texas Legislature.
The new requirements will affect students entering the ninth grade during the 2014-2015 school year and all students entering high school thereafter. Parents are also receiving a survey that seeks to get feedback regarding specific graduation program requirements.
