It’s a great place for folks to get a question answered, learn about new resources that become available, and share your tips and successes. All AISD staff and teachers are welcome.

This asynchronous self-paced BLEND course is designed for teachers & staff to create healthier, more sustainable learning environments while fostering environmental awareness in your students. By participating, you’ll gain valuable insights into how to leverage these features and resources, transforming your building and grounds into a dynamic, hands-on learning environment for sustainability.

Become an EcoRise Teacher Ambassador 

The EcoRise Teacher Ambassador Program serves to develop, empower, and recognize
educators as leaders and champions of engaging, sustainability education. Teachers attend an in-person institute in July and receive a stipend each semester for their work with EcoRise. Applications are released in the winter after the start of the year. Reach out to Elizabeth Harper, elizabeth@ecorise.org with any questions.

Join the Quarterly AISD Green Team Teacher & Staff Trainings

AISD Sustainability & Outdoor Learning teams will host whole district quarterly trainings and check-ins with campus green team leads in September, November, February, and April. These will provide ongoing support for your school eco-activities and foster collaboration and idea-sharing between campuses. Your school does not have to be registered with the NWF EcoSchools program to participate, but it is highly encouraged. Fill out this form to receive the calendar invites. 

Participate in the EcoRise Green Building Academy

Join other AISD High school teachers in the EcoRise Green Building Academy that have access to a comprehensive and adaptable curriculum, professional development opportunities, a green professional mentor program, and workforce development opportunities for students. The curriculum also prepares students to take the LEED Green Associate exam so they can gain this professional accreditation. See the program at Akins High School

Enroll in the EcoRise Sustainable Intelligence Curriculum

The EcoRise Sustainable Intelligence Program is an engaging, ready-to-use K-12 curriculum that builds a foundation of environmental-literacy and sustainability knowledge, and includes the Eco-Audit instructions in the last module. This program is FREE to AISD teachers. Returning teachers can login and teachers who are new to EcoRise can register to access the curriculum.

AISD staff may view available options on HCP under Course Science: Outdoor Learning. Course availability may vary, so check occasionally! Workshops we have hosted include Project Learning Tree, Project WILD and Growing up WILD and more.
