Overview

Odom Elementary School is named for Lalla M. Odom, a beloved teacher known for her excellence in math instruction. Odom’s mission is to provide an environment where students can actively engage in learning that is meaningful and to challenge all students to develop essential thinking and academic skills. Social Emotional Learning, which teaches students to manage emotions, establish positive relationships and make responsible decisions is integrated into the core curriculum. The Creative Learning Initiative engages students in different curriculum areas through fine arts. As an AVID-designated school, Odom helps students meet social, organizational and higher thinking needs as they prepare for college.
