New Blazier Relief School
Austin ISD is reviewing name suggestions for naming the New Blazier Relief School, which will open in August to provide relief to Blazier Elementary School.
Blazier Elementary School will transition into a primary campus, housing kindergarten through second grade; and the new relief school will serve the intermediate level accommodating third through sixth grade. This is a unique arrangement in Austin ISD with a strong partnership between the two campuses. The New Blazier Relief School was approved as part of the 2017 Bond program. This new build will be Phase I of a strategic plan to transform the entire site into a village containing Pre-K through eighth grade facilities, while providing relief to Blazier Elementary School throughout the transition.
Name submissions submitted from the public in June are currently being reviewed. Names will be vetted to align with the criteria outlined in board policy. The Campus Advisory Council—comprised of school personnel, parents and community members—will consider all eligible submissions and make a recommendation to the AISD Board of Trustees, who will make the final decision.
