  • Twin Oaks Library Branch Earth Month Zero-Waste Fest
    • Location: Twin Oaks Library Branch (1800 S. Fifth St.)
    • Time: 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
    • Kick off Earth Month with Austin Resource Recovery at their Zero-Waste Fest! Bring things to donate, swap or transform if you can or just bring yourself! Free and for all ages, although some areas may be more suited to adults.

  • Austin Creative Reuse Materials Mobile & Supplies Swap 
    • Location: Harris Elementary School 
    • Time: 2-5pm
    • Open to all teachers from across the district to “shop” new and gently used materials at no cost to them. Also a circular school supplies drive - donate new or gently used items you do not use in your classroom!

  • Love Lady Bird Lake Day
    • Location: Austin Rowing Club
    • Time: 8am-2pm (multiple shifts)
    • Love Lady Bird Lake Day is an annual Earth Day cleanup that brings the Austin community together to care for one of our most beloved natural spaces. Hosted by Austin Rowing Club (ARC), in partnership with Keep Austin Beautiful and Rivian, this event focuses on protecting Lady Bird Lake and the surrounding trails through hands-on volunteer action.

  • Squirrel Fest 2026
    • Location: Pease Park
    • Time: 4:00-8:00PM
    • A family-friendly celebration of spring at Austin’s first public park. From 4:00-8:00pm enjoy games, activations, information booths, food, drink, and music. 
  • Morning Glories: Earth Day
    • Location: Meredith Heritage Tree Deck
    • Time: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
    • Morning Glories is a childhood education series offering hands-on activities that foster literacy, bilingual storytelling, music, dance, cultural exploration, and nature play.

  • ArtSmart: Austin's Planet Protectors 
    • Time: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
    • Location: Central Library (710 W. César Chávez St, Children's Area, 3rd Floor South)
    • Celebrate Earth Day at the library with this educational storytelling program featuring books, songs, flannelgraphs, storytelling and a shadow puppet show. A related craft and STEM activity follows the story time. Recommended for ages 3-10.

Earth Day Austin at Huston-Tillotson University

Did you know AISD is getting a BUNCH of electric buses? Join in the family-friendly fun at Earth Day Austin on May 2 at Huston-Tillotson University 12-6pm. Explore rich, in-depth programming, live music, exhibits, kids activities, mayoral candidate interviews, an instrument petting zoo, life-sized interactive puppets, and the Austin ISD electric school bus on display!

National Bike to School Day

May is Bike Month, and May 7th is National Bike to School Day! Become a participating school, share this bike safety presentation, and get rolling with support from Ghisallo Cycling Initiative.
