Austin ISD secures loan to guard against potential revenue delays
Last night, the board of trustees approved a short-term loan to ensure the district has sufficient funds to meet payroll at the end of November.
What to know: Austin ISD has been working hard to bring down expenses and is currently about $35M under budget so far this fiscal year.

Austin ISD mourns the passing of Nan Clayton, beloved trustee and namesake of Clayton Elementary
Austin ISD is saddened to share that Nan Clayton, former trustee, educator, and the namesake of Clayton Elementary School, passed away on October 24, 2025.
Clayton was a long-time South Austin resident and community contributor. Her dedication to public education shaped generations of students, a legacy permanently honored by the naming of Clayton Elementary School in 2006.

The Community LOVE HUB was created as a response from the 78744 Dove Springs community residents and nonprofit organization’s interest to create a space to rebuild, restore and reclaim our neighborhood by providing educational opportunities that support our students’ academic success. It is also intended to engage with parents, adults and guardians to strengthen the quality of life for everyone we serve in the Community LOVE HUB.
