Dear Austin ISD Families,

Earlier this week, we asked for your support to minimize the number of individuals on our campuses in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19. We are thankful that so many of you were able to answer that call and keep your students learning remotely through Jan. 19. Ultimately, we saw more than 10,000 in-person students switch to remote learning.

Recipes For Success Session: Blend

Recipes for Success, hosted by the Austin ISD Parent Engagement Support Office, are sessions to share information about various topics including instructional platforms, health & wellness, resources, and family leadership.

Join us on Friday, Jan. 15 via Zoom for a review of how to use and navigate the instructional platform, Blend. Blend is used districtwide for grades 3 and up. The Spanish session will be at 9 a.m. followed by an English session at 10 a.m. Registration is required.

Historically, Austin ISD celebrates the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. by participating in the annual MLK Celebration march, sponsored by the Austin Heritage Council. This year, the march and many other Martin Luther King Jr. Day activities are being modified to keep everyone safe.

Austin, Texas—Texas' school districts are faced with compounding concerns for the health and safety of all Texans due to a horrific pandemic; the educational, mental, and emotional well-being of Texas' youth; and the pending threat of decreased funding necessary to serve our students and community at this unprecedented time.

All Austin ISD Classes are Remote Jan. 11

To ensure the safety of all our students and staff, all Austin ISD classes will be 100 percent remote, Monday, Jan. 11.

No students will report to campus and buses will not run to transport students. WiFi service will be offered on a one-hour delay from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. See our WiFi bus map for service locations.

We will continue to monitor conditions.
