AISD to Hold Virtual Graduation Ceremonies / AISD llevará a cabo las ceremonias de graduación virtuales

COVID-19 precautions aren’t going to stop our Austin ISD Class of 2020 from celebrating one of the greatest achievements of their young lives! 

Until we can confirm that we’ll be able to hold our traditional, in-person graduation ceremony, AISD will honor our seniors with a virtual graduation.

The ceremonies will be held Monday, June 15, and Tuesday, June 16, on Channel 22, AISD.TV and on the district Facebook page.

Hill Elementary Celebrates Groundbreaking

Austin ISD has not paused its work on improving schools in the community. On Friday, Hill Elementary School conducted a virtual groundbreaking to celebrate the start of the new modernization project. 

AISD families and staff watched the groundbreaking streamed live on AISD.TV, Facebook and via Zoom webinar. It featured remarks from Principal Jack Drummond, Superintendent Paul Cruz, Board President Geronimo Rodriguez and Trustee Kristin Kristin Ashy. The ceremonial groundbreaking was recorded beforehand and featured only the principal to accommodate social distancing.

Since late 2019, the AISD Board of Trustees has been discussing how to translate community priorities into the next vision, mission, and values that will guide the school district in future years.

We want to hear from AISD parents and families what they want for our AISD graduates and how they would like our internal and external stakeholders to experience the district over the next five years?

Looking to the Future: AISD to Host Strategic Plan Listening Session

Austin ISD students, staff and community members are invited to participate in a virtual listening session focused on the district's 2020-2025 Strategic Plan, hosted by the District and our partner Studer Education, with Board of Trustees present.

The listening session will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 7 and will be streamed on the district's Facebook page and on AISD.TV. A recording of the meeting will be available to watch if community members are not able to join the session live.
