Austin ISD celebrated thirty Austinites for their completion of the UpClose program with virtual graduation.
The AISD UpClose program offers families and community members a unique opportunity to learn about the district's infrastructure, programs and services, as well as the challenges and opportunities for improvements.
AISD Superintendent Paul Cruz recognized the graduates' accomplishments during the virtual ceremony.
On Friday, the Casis Elementary community celebrated the groundbreaking — virtually — for its new modernization project.
The modernization is part of the 2017 Bond that has funded other projects including the renovations of T.A. Brown, Menchaca and Govalle elementaries.
The virtual groundbreaking was broadcast on AISD.TV and Facebook Live, where students, families and staff were able to view the virtual ceremony from home.

AISD.TV is excited to present a new initiative aimed at supplementing the district’s continuous learning. AISD.TV has started airing educational content in three blocks, or sets of time, specifically designed for elementary, middle and high school students. Enriching segments for all grade levels are also included within the blocks.
The channel has already started airing the new content and will continue doing so for as long as students are engaged in continuous learning.
