AISD Census 2020 Ambassador Training

Get involved and become a 2020 Census Ambassador! Help ensure that everyone in AISD and Central Texas is accurately represented and our schools and communities get their fair share of federal funding for schools, health care, libraries, and social services.

The training will be Jan. 27 from 9 a.m.–noon at the AISD Performing Arts Center, 1500 Barbara Jordan Blvd.

Temporary Location for Upcoming AISD Board of Trustees Information Session

The Jan. 13 Board Information Session of the Austin ISD Board of Trustees will be at 6 p.m. at the AISD Performing Arts Center, 1500 Barbara Jordan Blvd. 

Portions of AISD's new headquarters near Interstate 35 and East Ben White Boulevard remain under construction, including the new board room.

Austin ISD Celebrates Grand Opening of Modernized Menchaca Elementary School

Second school opens under 2017 Bond Program, brings 21st century learning spaces to South Austin students

 

Austin ISD today opened one of the first projects to be completed under the 2017 Bond Program, Menchaca Elementary School. AISD and Menchaca campus leadership, students, parents and the community came together for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the modernized school, which officially opened to students on Wednesday, January 8.

The new campus is the fifth version of the elementary school in this community

 

Menchaca students and staff will start the 2020 spring semester in a new modernized campus on the existing site. The new state-of-the-art facility design includes a collection of three buildings with shaded outdoor collaboration spaces designed around heritage oak trees.

AISD Twilight Program Open Registration

If you're an Austin ISD senior behind on academic credit please see your school counselor to get signed up for the AISD Twilight Program. Open registration begins Jan. 7 and goes through Jan. 17.

The program provides AISD students options for credit recovery, grade repair and attendance makeup. The program assists student who are at risk by offering support during after-school extended hours.
