AISD Expands Health Care Services, Implements Virtual Visits

Austin ISD has expanded health care services across the district and implemented an innovative virtual visit service at three high schools in partnership with Seton Healthcare.

Using secure audio and visual technology, certified health assistants at campuses can now connect via web camera and computer to a registered nurse remotely. This allows for the health assistant and the nurse to collaborate on the care of students at campuses where a nurse may not be present.

Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Coaching Series

Families of students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and educators, are invited to join our expert presenters in assisting students reach their full potential.

Please register by phone or online for a two-part Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Coaching Series. 

Session 1, Successful Routines for Home and School, will be 5:30–7 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Rosedale School.

Session 2, Recreation and Camps for Unique Kids, will be 5:30–7 p.m. Feb. 13 at Lamar Middle School. 

Light refreshments will be served; childcare will not be provided. Interpretation available with advance notice.

Positive Parenting: An ADHD Coaching Series

Parents, guardians and caretakers are invited to join us for a continuation of Positive Parenting, an ADHD Coaching series by guest speaker Ed Gooze, Ph.D.

Fall 2017 dates, north- Pillow Elementary Cafeteria: September 15, October 20, November 10, December 8. All sessions are 8–9:30 a.m.

Fall 2017 dates, central– Travis High School Library: September 20, October 18, November 15, December 13. All sessions are 10–11:30 a.m.

Spanish interpretation provided. Childcare will not be provided.
