Austin ISD Named Winner of Laserfiche Run Smarter Award

The new year brings less paper and more innovation for Austin ISD. The district has been recognized for its innovative approach to content management with the 2014 Laserfiche Run Smarter® Award. 

AISD integrated the Laserfiche Document Management System with SEEDS, a proprietary system that houses information for special education students. The district can now create and manage documents more efficiently and provide easy, secure access of those documents to instructors and other staff.

Austin ISD Trustees Appoint Paul Cruz Superintendent to Lead District

At tonight's regular board meeting, Austin ISD Trustees appointed Paul Cruz as superintendent of the district's 85,000 students and 12,000 staff members.

"Committed to continuing our dedication to rigor, relationships and resources, I am honored to be named superintendent," AISD Superintendent Paul Cruz said. "I look forward to continuing the communication of the district's successes; working with staff and community members to address areas of needs; and carrying out the will of the Trustees." 

MEDIA ADVISORY Puppetry Group to Offer Helping Hand to Crockett High School Students

The Crockett High School Musical Theatre Department is being trained in puppeteering with a workshop from Austin Public Library’s Literature LIVE!

What: The Austin Public Library’s puppeteers are assisting the teens with manipulation and movement, as well as expressing emotion through the medium of puppetry. The students will put their skills to use in the school’s upcoming production of “Avenue Q, The Student Edition.”

AISD Holds Public Hearing on Final State Accountability Ratings and Annual Report Jan. 26

The AISD Board of Trustees welcomes public feedback on the district's 2013-14 Annual Report. This document includes the Texas Academic Performance Report, Public Education Information Management System Financial Standard Reports, campus performance objectives, a report of violent or criminal incidents and information received from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
