On Feb. 6, join Austin ISD employees and students in participating in the Go Red campaign. By wearing red that day, you'll show your support for the fight against heart disease in women.
Post photos of your class or department on social media, and be sure to use hashtags #GoRed and #AISDWearsRed.
The Go Red campaign is an effort to raise awareness about heart disease, which is the No. 1 killer of women in the U.S.

Austin ISD continues its Lunch and Learn series for the media with an overview of the district's legislative priorities, including school finance, early childhood education and the state's new graduation pathways.
What: Superintendent Paul Cruz, Chief Financial Officer Nicole Conley and Intergovernmental Relations Director Edna Butts will provide information about AISD's legislative priorities. They also will be available to answer questions.

Blackshear Elementary Fine Arts Academy has been nominated as a 2015 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education — the only Central Texas school to be recognized. Blackshear is one of only 26 schools in Texas to earn the honor.

The Reagan Soul Raiders have something new to march about. On Jan. 18, the marching band was named division champs at the 14th Annual MLK Battle of the Bands National Marching Competition.
The event was held in Houston at Rice Stadium. The Soul Raiders competed in the medium band category for groups of 52–84.
The 9th annual Feria Para Aprender Spanish-language education fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, February 21, at the ACC/Highland Mall, 6001 Airport.
The event is designed to help Spanish-speaking parents become key leaders of their children’s academic success.
