Restored Airstream Project Leads to Ann Richards School Students Presenting at National Conference

AUSTIN, Texas—Students and educators from Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders have been selected to present their class projects and experiences at the 2014 Project Lead The Way Summit in Indianapolis, Nov. 2–5.

Project Lead the Way is a national science, technology, engineering and math curriculum and teacher professional development model.

2015–20 Strategic Plan Community Meeting

The Austin ISD Board of Trustees has developed a framework for a new strategic plan, including the district's vision, mission, core beliefs and strategic goals.

During the next two weeks, all Austin ISD stakeholders are invited to participate in community discussions to expand on this foundation and to identify the priorities of the district.

The first meeting will be

Austin ISD Seeks Input on 2015–20 Strategic Plan

This fall, the Austin ISD community will work together to develop a strategic plan for 2015–20. Strategic planning will help AISD focus its energy, ensure that the district and its community partners are working toward the same goals, and assess and adjust the district’s direction in response to a changing environment. 

The plan will help guide the district from where it is now to where we want to be in five years.

City Partners with AISD to Increase Pre-K Enrollment

The City of Austin is partnering with the Austin Independent School District to assist with increasing parent awareness and bolstering enrollment in Pre-K classes for qualified children.

The City will share Pre-K information at a variety of City facilities including public libraries, Women, Infants and Children (WIC) sites, neighborhood centers and recreation centers. 

City professional staff such as librarians and health professionals will use a one-to-one approach in sharing the Pre-K enrollment information with families of young children.
