Feria Para Aprender

Where: ACC/Highland Mall, Men's Dillards Department Store (First Floor)

What: Feria Para Aprender (The Learning Fair) is the largest Spanish-language education fair in Central Texas. Since launching in 2007, Feria Para Aprender has served over 200,000 parents and students nationwide.

AISD Monitors Weather Overnight

AISD continues to monitor the weather and the latest information available from the National Weather Service as rains, coupled with freezing temperatures, are expected overnight. 

However, the district recognizes that the true impact of the inclement weather likely will not be known until overnight and into the early morning.

Prospective Students Invited to AISD School Choice Fair Dec. 7

Prospective students and their families are invited to a school choice fair hosted by Austin ISD to introduce them to unique opportunities available through the Fulmore and Kealing magnet programs, the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders, and the new Single-Gender Schools in District One, Pearce/Garcia.

The AISD School of Choice Fair is held yearly to allow students and parents the opportunity to explore the various programs offered at these specific middle school campuses. Representatives from campuses will be on hand to answer questions and showcase their programs.

Blackshear ES to Host “Take Your Parents to School Day” Dec. 16-20

Blackshear Elementary School is putting its own spin on “Take your Son or Daughter to Work Day” by hosting  “Take Your Parents to School” the week of Dec. 16-20.

Throughout the week, parents will schedule time in their son or daughter’s classroom to observe and experience the teaching and learning processes that have made Blackshear an Exemplary School.

AISD Superintendent Delivers State of the District Address

AUSTIN, Texas—Today Superintendent Meria Carstarphen released a 30-minute "movie" presenting the annual report on the district’s goals, achievements and challenges. The film provides data and information on the state of the school district and reports on the performance scorecard as seen through the lens of staff and students, including some guest presentations.
