AISD Monitors Weather Overnight

AISD continues to monitor the weather and the latest information available from the National Weather Service as rains, coupled with freezing temperatures, are expected overnight.

However, the district recognizes that the true impact of the inclement weather likely will not be known until overnight and into the early morning.

AISD will provide updates to school communities and the news media as soon as possible Friday morning and no later than 6 a.m. The district also will provide updates through its social media channels: Austin ISD on Twitter and Facebook.

Please note: Rain may cause delays to bus pick-up and drop-off times. If your child rides the bus and you would like to learn how specific bus routes may be affected, please call AISD’s transportation department between 7:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. at 512-414-0238.

Families also may call dispatchers at AISD's bus terminals for information about the routes for their respective schools after 4:30 a.m.:

  • Nelson Bus Terminal in Northeast Austin: 512-414-6520.
  • Saegert Bus Terminal in Southwest Austin: 512-414-6500 and
  • Southeast Bus Terminal: 512-414-8510.

The safety of the AISD community remains the district's top priority. AISD will continue to excuse tardies and absences for students and staff members due to weather or circumstances related to inclement weather.

Stay safe.
