The University of Texas at Austin recently recognized four Austin ISD high schools for their participation in the College Readiness Assignments Field Test (CRAFT) program during the 2012-2013 school year.
Akins High School students won big in a Central Texas competition and in the process helped fight against hunger.
Akins students participated in the Capital Area Food Bank “Canstruction” competition last month, and won Best High School Entry for a structure they built out of canned food that spells out “Keep Austin Fed.”
Canstruction is using one can of food as a catalyst for change.
