Creative Learning Initiative: Impact of Creative Teaching on Academic Growth
This report examines the impact of Creative Teaching techniques on students’ academic growth on the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR) reading and math tests from 2016–2017 to 2017–2018. Statistically significant growth on STAAR reading was found for students who had teachers who were moderately competent at Creative Teaching techniques and used these techniques at least two times per week in their classrooms.
AISD CTE Postsecondary Enrollment
Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides students with the academic knowledge, technical skills, work-based experiences, and hands-on learning with real world scenarios that prepare students for college and career after high school. This executive summary reports on college enrollment along with industry certifications and CTE concentrators for the graduating Class of 2018.
Career and Technical Education: Program Analysis Scorecard Report
This report summarizes Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program Analysis Scorecard results from the 2017-2018 school year. To better understand and measure conditions in the program prior to implementation of the CTE 5-Year Plan. To establish a baseline data, indicators related to quality of instruction, program alignment, and access and equity are described.
Professional Pathways for Teachers: Summary of Evaluation Findings From 2017–2018
Professional Pathways for Teachers (PPfT) is a human capital system that blends three primary components: appraisal, compensation, and professional development (PD) opportunities. The purpose of PPfT is to build the capacity of Austin Independent School District (AISD) teachers through a comprehensive system of supports and compensation with the ultimate goal of having a positive impact on teacher retention and student achievement. The current evaluation document presents descriptive analyses of the 2017–2018 PPfT appraisal and compensation data.
2018 ACE Austin Summer Program Report
This report compares the STEM-focused ACE summer program and the regular ACE summer program conducted at AISD during summer 2018. Students in both the regular and the STEM summer camp programs experienced positive STEM engagement; high academic self-confidence; a sense of being prepared for college, job or career in STEM; favorable school and behavioral environment; novel summer camp learning; and positive attitudes toward summer programming after attending the ACE Austin summer program.

This report provides a summary of graduates who earned a CTE certificate or who were a CTE concentrator and their college enrollment between the 2013 and 2017 school years.
Sequential Fine Arts in 2017-2018
AISD promotes access to sustained learning for all students in music, visual art, drama, and dance. This report discusses the relationship between sequential fine arts participation and student outcomes for the school year 2017–2018 and how the relationships differ between based on student characteristics (i.e. race, ethnicity, special education status and limited English speaking status).
