Family Learning Opportunities

The Austin ISD Department of Special Education hosts Family Learning Opportunities throughout the year. These sessions include a variety of topics related to students with disabilities and special education. For more information, please contact Kellie Marino or Bree Rolfe at 512-414-SPED (7733).

The Center for Child Protection: Becoming Trauma Aware (Part One) 

Presented by The Center for Child Protection

This training will help parents and caregivers become Trauma Aware by increasing knowledge of brain development and how trauma can impact a child's behavior and functioning. You will learn research-informed concepts and identify practical, trauma-informed strategies to best support and respond to your children's challenging behaviors in a developmentally appropriate way.
