AUSTIN, Texas—On Friday, Sept. 26, the U.S. Department of Education awarded Austin ISD the 2014 Professional Development for Arts Educators grant for specialized training of music teachers and enhanced fine arts coaching for general classroom teachers in Title I Pre K-12 schools.

AISD Students Exceed Statewide STAAR Passing Rates in all Third through Fifth Grade Subject Areas
Austin, TX—Today, the Texas Education Agency announced the statewide passing rates for the 2012 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) for third through eighth grade topped 70 percent for most tests. Students in the Austin Independent School District exceeded the statewide passing rates in all subject areas for third through fifth grade.

AISD Board Seeks Applicants for District 7 Trustee
Austin ISD Board of Trustees is accepting application to fill the vacant District 7 seat.The passing of Trustee Robert Schneider in July created an open seat on the board.
