On May 2, the Austin ISD Department of English Language Learners will host the Latino Academic Achievement Awards. Austin ISD TV Wins Awards for Education Access, News Coverage
AISD TV, Austin ISD's public access television channel, was recently honored at the Hometown Media Awards for creativity and excellence in programming.The HMAs promote and honor programs that creatively address community needs. HMA winners challenge conventional format, help develop diversity, encourage involvement and allow viewers to experience television in different ways.
Live Fire Skill Day
What: The LBJ Fire Academy senior students will conduct a live fire skill day where they will engage and extinguish a car fire, a dumpster fire, and a structure fire. During the structure fire students will perform ventilation, forcible entry, search, and extinguishment tasks. The students will operate in teams and rotate between the various fires and roles. Anticipate 5 rotations.
