Dear Team Austin ISD, As we near the end of the year, I am reflecting on all the successes we’ve achieved during what has been the hardest school year for many of us. We have stood up for what is right for our kiddos, and stayed focused on improving academics across the district.
2019 AISD Pride Week Kickoff Celebration
We are #AISDProud to announce the AISD Pride Week Kickoff Celebration—9 a.m.–noon Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center. The event will showcase the district’s commitment to creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment. MEDIA ADVISORY: Hill Elementary School to host grand opening ceremony
Hill Elementary School will celebrate its new modernized campus on Tuesday, March 1. As part of the 2017 Bond Program, Hill Elementary School received a new fourth-grade classroom wing, makerspaces, gym and renovated outdoor learning areas. While these spaces have been complete since Fall 2021, this ribbon-cutting will officially commemorate the modernization.

Austin ISD Commits to Increasing Participation by Historically Underutilized Business
Austin ISD trustees voted Monday night to approve a new program that establishes targets for the number of contracts awarded to women- and minority-owned businesses, known as a Historically Underutilized Business program. The HUB program is intended to provide equal opportunities for all vendors to garner Austin ISD contracts.

Two report cards about your campus are now available for you to review. They’re called the State of Texas 2020–21 School Report Card and the Federal Report Card. Why it matters: These report cards provide information about student performance on the STAAR test, as well as enrollment, class size averages, and financial expenditures.
District looks at leadership changes for Mendez Middle
Mendez Middle School may soon be under new leadership as Austin ISD explores ending the partnership that manages the school. For the past four years, Mendez has been managed under an agreement with T-STEM Texas.
