MEDIA ADVISORY: AISD's Small Green Tech Academy Named First Green Flag School in Texas
A school with meditation gardens, a goat pen and a chicken coop will be the first in Texas to be recognized by the National Wildlife Federation's Eco-Schools USA Program as a Green Flag School. Small Green Tech Academy has earned the designation, which recognizes schools for increasing environmental awareness and reducing waste and costs.

The Austin Independent School District's Board of Trustees voted to move forward with renaming five district buildings named for men who served in either the Confederate military or government.
