A World of Opportunity There are endless benefits to learning a second language and culture. Students who study a second language increase their global awareness and understanding, improve literacy in their native language, are better prepared for college, have more employment opportunities, and have a greater appreciation for the arts.

Transition Priorities
Transition Priorities due to TAP and Program Changes Approximately 3500 students are in a group that will have special transition priorities and support in the spring semester, 2026. This includes Pre-K–4th grade students from the following elementary schools:
Pre-K
Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 Applications and transfers Applications for eligible and tuition-based students open on April 1 and remain available on an ongoing basis until the campus reaches capacity. Families may apply for their child to attend a Pre-K3 or Pre-K4 program at a campus other than their zoned school, based on space availability.
Transfers
Transfer Basics All transfers require an application in Enroll Austin. Transfer applications must be submitted within the dates provided for each window.
