AISD Meal Sites Closed for Memorial Day
All Austin ISD meal sites will be closed in observance of the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 25. To provide food for the long weekend, children and caregivers will receive two breakfast and lunch meals on Thursday, May 21 and Friday, May 22. Austin ISD Receives Award For Its Visual Arts
Austin ISD was awarded the District of Distinction Award for the Visual Arts for the third year in a row Aug. 31. The District of Distinction award is given annually by the Texas Art Education Association to recognize school districts that are providing high-quality arts programs to students and promoting them to the community.

About Foster Care
Students in Foster Care are supported by the Austin ISD Project HELP Program Who Can Enroll a Foster Student? A student may be enrolled by either a representative from Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) or Child Protective Services (CPS); or an individual from the student’s foster placement, such as a foster parent or representative of the shelter.
