During the most recent legislative session, Gov. Greg Abbott signed House Bill 1481, banning student use of personal communications devices on school campuses during school hours. Austin ISD Moves Forward with 1882 Partnership for Burnet, Dobie and Webb middle schools (en español)
The Austin ISD Board of Trustees has voted unanimously to move forward with a new partnership aimed at supporting Burnet, Dobie and Webb middle schools. The district will enter into a three-year partnership with the non-profit Texas Council for International Studies (TCIS) to help turn the three schools around and achieve acceptable accountability.
