Licensed Mental Health Professionals

AISD Licensed Mental Health Professionals work collaboratively with families, schools and community partners to promote students’ academic success by providing mental health and community resource support.

AISD Licensed Mental Health Professionals provide Tier 3 services, including social work services and direct counseling support. They are an extension of school counselors and work closely with campus admin teams to provide support to students and families needing more individualized support. Services may include short-term counseling to students  through AISD School Mental Health Centers.

The goal of the Licensed Mental Health Professionals (LMHPs) is to foster positive relations and improve students’ wellbeing.  LMHPs work to strengthen students’ capacity to regulate emotions, promote positive peer relationships, develop alternatives to risk-taking behaviors, and build resilience for managing difficult situations.
