Good Stewardship: Repurposing Sims

Austin ISD invites the community to join us for a conversation series entitled Good Stewardship: Repurposing Sims during which we will meet virtually with local organizations and thought leaders to discuss the future of the former Sims Elementary Sims campus as we work together to create a vision. For those unable to attend, a copy of the meeting presentation, recording and notes will be posted to the district website.

Celebrating Earth Week with ‘Food of the Future’ (En Español)

Have you ever tried chocolate cinnamon cricket cake? Yes, crickets...

  • This unique dish is one of four crafted by Austin ISD High School culinary students just in time for Earth Week at the “Food of the Future” tasting event.

Why it matters: This project serves as a learning adventure for culinary students, sparking inspiration while emphasizing the significance of sustainable food habits, plant-based choices, student interaction and marketing skills.

Why it matters: LBJ was the only 5A school in Austin ISD to advance to Area this year and it’s the first time for the team to advance after competing with the Liberal Arts and Science Academy for several years.
