AISD Pride Week 2022

Every year, to celebrate LGBTQIA+ students, staff and families Austin ISD hosts its own Pride Week, a time to highlight the district's commitment to creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment. This year's weeklong celebration is March 21-26, which aligns with the National LGBT Health Awareness Week. Each campus will receive an inspiration guide of suggested activities for PRIDE Week. Campuses are encouraged to plan activities that engage, educate and inspire.

As Omicron falls, attendance for athletics and fine arts can increase (En español)

We’re opening up our Fine Arts and Athletics events and lifting audience capacity restrictions, effective immediately, while still requiring all attendees to wear masks.

Why it matters: Our kids deserve to be celebrated, especially with playoffs and other end-of-year performances coming up.

Yes, but: Masks are still required anytime you’re inside an Austin ISD facility, including stadiums or performing spaces – and this applies to those coming in from other districts as well.

O. Henry Middle School Cheer Team is Going to Nationals

It’s time to cheer on the O. Henry Mustangs on the national stage.

The O. Henry Middle School cheer team will be competing at the National High School Cheerleading Championship at Walt Disney World Saturday.

"This experience is a culmination of months of hard work," said coach Michael Shackelford. "The team set the goal of competing at Nationals back at cheer camp in July, and when we earned that bid to Nationals, the team was thrilled.”

Amplify Austin Day 2022

Amplify Austin is the most impactful day of giving in Central Texas, raising over $81 million since 2013 for Austin area nonprofits. Last year’s campaign helped Austin Ed Fund – Austin ISD’s education foundation – raise nearly $50,000 to #AmplifyAISD students and teachers, and they will be participating again this year!
