Statement Regarding Reopening / Enunciado sobre la reapertura

Austin ISD has planned extensively for reopening schools on Aug. 18 with guidance from state and local authorities and health officials, working to ensure that health and safety procedures are in place.

We have been using what we learned from our students, staff and families to create a hybrid learning model that includes in-person and virtual learning for the fall. Our families want choice for in-person and virtual learning.

Need to Know: COVID-19 models and procedures

Even in the middle of a pandemic, AISD is committed to keeping the focus on student outcomes and achievement. In order for us to keep the focus on high student performance, we need to be prepared for a variety of possibilities. There will likely be a point in time when any one of our 127 schools may need to switch its instructional delivery model based on the health conditions at a particular school site.

Buford the Book Bus

For the 6th year, Buford the Book Bus will be "out and about" the district to distribute brand new books to children.

Due to COVID-19, children will be handed the appropriate age-level book following district safety procedures.
