Austin ISD students continue to rank high among their peers in large urban school districts on the Nation's Report Card, ranking third in percentage of students at or above proficiency levels in fourth-grade math.
Today, the National Assessment of Educational Progress reported that AISD students ranked third in fourth-grade math and second in eighth-grade math, with no districts performing significantly better. In fourth and eighth-grade reading, AISD students ranked sixth among 30 districts participating in a Trial Urban District Assessment.

Today on National Food Day, Austin ISD Nutrition Services was recognized by the Center for Good Food Purchasing as a Good Food Institution Hero.
AISD was named a Hero for its innovative steps taken to achieve the four-out-of-five-star ranking in the Good Food Purchasing Program. The district is one of the first institutions outside of Los Angeles to enroll in the Good Food Purchasing Program. AISD joins the University of Texas at Austin and Austin Convention Center in participating in the program.
