Free Physicals available for Austin ISD students participating in sports and band

In partnership with Travis County Medical Society, Austin ISD will offer free physicals for Middle and High School students who want to participate in athletics, cheerleading or high school marching band in 2019-2020 school year. 

These clinics are available for children without a primary care physician or the ability to obtain a sports physical.

2019 Summer Reading Splash

Join us Saturday, May 18 from 9:30 a.m.– 2:30 p.m. at the AISD Performing Arts Center, 1500 Barbara Jordan Blvd. and SPLASH into summer reading with some of your favorite authors at the 2019 Summer Reading Splash, a celebration of books and reading for students and their families.

Featuring exciting authors, interactive sessions, hands-on activities, book signings and more, this event is geared toward readers in grades 3 through 6 but all are welcome!

Unity in the Community 2019

Every year students, families, schools, churches and organizations in the Reagan community come together to celebrate our diversity, promote unity and show our united strength. There will be music, information, food, health screenings, prizes and fun activities for kids.

This event is open to the public. The walk will start at Webb Middle School and end at Reagan Early College High School where the festival will take place.

Bowie Journalism Teacher, Michael Reeves, Awarded National High School Journalism Teacher of the Year

Every year the Columbia Scholastic Press Association recognizes Journalism teachers across the country with the Special Recognition Adviser Award. The 2019 National High School Journalism Teacher Awards competition was cosponsored by the Dow Jones News Fund and was given additional support from the Poynter Institute and the Wall Street Journal. The organization gave recognition to a number of journalism teachers for their contributions to the field. 


This year, Bowie’s very own journalism teacher Michael Reeves was recognized. 

Burnet Middle School 2nd Annual Spring Fiesta

All are welcome at the Burnet Middle School's 2nd Annual Spring Fiesta! This resource fair will host many exhibitors for our families to connect with including health, education, housing, food pantry, legal aid*, employment and support services of many kinds!

Lunch is free and food pantry items will be available. Fun Zone activities include: bouncy houses, climbing wall, "train rides" and pony rides. We will also have a craft center, games and music. There will be a raffle at the end of the event for toys, gift cards, bicycles and more.
